The latest, greatest news...

Even though they've been kind of silent for a couple months, that doesn't mean the boys aren't working on anything new, exciting, and special. They released a new video on Monday and it has started to take off a little bit. It's what they call a "Katy Parody." In honor of Super Bowl 49 on Sunday and Katy Perry doing the half-time show, Anthem Lights did a mashup of Katy's songs, changing the words so they were all about the big game tomorrow. They were supposed to hold a livestream that night, but something happened and they were unable to do it, rescheduling it for the next evening. During their live chat, Caleb said they wanted their fans to share the new video so they could get lots of people to watch it because, after this week, no one is going to care about anything related to the Super Bowl anymore. After the boys left the livestream, a few lightbulbs (including me) stuck around and had a little conversation in the "chat" box. I answered some questions the best I knew how and then we discussed getting a new hastag trending on Twitter. It is understood that when Lecrae was on the Tonight show with Jimmy Fallon it was because his fans kept tweeting with the hastag "#LecraeonFallon." We hoped that would work so we began tweeting with our own version of it "#AnthemLightsonFallon." It did start to take off, but I don't think we ever got it trending, unfortunately. On the bright side, the video made a couple headlines on the internet, on to the MSN and other websites and plenty of people tweeted about it, including "Mix 104.1" and a Katy Perry fan/news account. Here's the video:

The livestream is below. There were three big announcements the guys made, without Alan's help, because he was in California. There were also a few special guests in this live chat, so if you were unable to watch it, I reccomend that you do that...it's a pretty good one! The three announcements were the 2014 Pop Mashup's release will be soon (they just had/have a bunch of paperwork to go through so that it's legal to release because of all the songs and different artists they are originally performed by; as soon as they get all the legal stuff done, they will release it), the boys will be making another K-Love Fan Awards Mashup because they had so much fun doing it last year (however, if the radio station decides to have them at the awards, few/none of them will be able to make it due to previous engagements), and they are doing a Grammy Record of the Year Nominee Mashup, in honor of the Grammy awards this next week. It is set to release on Monday. :)

Well, I think that will be all for now. I hope you enjoyed this post...and that I didn't talk to long for your liking. ;) Let me know what you thought and if you're excited for these new mashups! Which one are you looking forward to most! Have a great weekend and Super Bowl Sunday!!! See you all next week! :D
